Meet the Dietitian
Hi, I’m Tori Medlin
I'm a registered dietitian and the founder of D1 Ready Nutrition. I created D1 Ready to help bridge the gap I see every day between high school and college athletics. Too many athletes show up to college under-fueled, underprepared, and already behind, especially when it comes to performance nutrition. But through this work, another need became clear: As athletes transition to the professional level, they face even greater demands, faster pace, and higher expectations without the individualized nutrition support to match.
I earned my undergraduate degree from NC State (Go Pack!), my master’s from Meredith College, and completed my dietetic internship through Iowa State. I began my career at Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu, where I worked with both pediatric and adult patients - covering inpatient eating disorders and orthopedic surgical recovery. I also consulted with the University of Hawaiʻi athletic department, which reminded me how much I love helping athletes gain an edge through fueling. After moving to Charleston, SC, I stepped into the role of Director of Sports Nutrition at the College of Charleston.
Now based in the Lowcountry, I work with athletes, teams, and families both locally and virtually. Nutrition is the base of all performance. Whether you're preparing for your first year of college, chasing a pro contract, or switching to a new sport, my goal is the same: to help you fuel with purpose and build a foundation that makes you stand out, not play catch-up.
